In this tutorial series i will be using After Effects for compositing. Boujou will be used for 3d tracking and i will show you how to use the target tracker and generate meshes inside Boujou. Then I am going to model and texture a couple of pots to place on the table. Photoshop will be used for texture editing. I will export different passes and composit them in after effects where i will add some motion blur with the plugin Reel smart motion blur.
In this visual effects clip, I've added a futuristic city the background behind a line of department stores where i live.I used Adobe After Effects to track the shot and 3D Studio max to light the model and render it. Compositing the futuristic city was somewhat of challenge for me because I had to make it appear behind everything. The sky in the original footage contained no clouds. I was able to find a nice cloudy sky image on Google and made it appear as it belonged in the shot. But all in all, it turned out great. Tutorial for 3D Studio Max on creating a basic reference image environment using blueprints or drawings as texture maps. These maps are then used as background reference images to assist in modelling objects. The symmetry modifier is then added to a polygon object so that the modelling can be mirrored across allowing for quicker object creation.
Just a couple test renders using a particle system and a birthing script to create exploding glass. The render is of a poor quality, and I may go back and do a proper render on this clip.
