This is a reply to this video, which I found a couple of days ago: www.youtube.com It's not exactly the same, but it has some features that were inspired by that video. See also the end result video with the Pontiac GTO model, for a more neat end result. Software used is 3Ds Max 2009. Please watch in HD for full enjoyment! www.onnovanbraam.com Onno van Braam 3D Modeler Animator
I thought I'd make myself a character in 3Ds MAX, since I've never done this before. So... I've built this simple cartoon eye rig. And I guess it looks pretty cool. The two top sliders control the left and the right lids. The bottom slider controls the size of the eye pupils. A point dummy and a look-at constraint pointed at it control where eyes look. And FFD deformer is used to generate expressions and give the eyes some additional curvature. I can already imagine things that could be done with this nice simple rig... Besides, I'm pretty sure I've seen stuff like this many times. Tell me what you think please :) PS: If anyone needs it, I could make a tutorial for this rig.
Hey, guys! Today we have a special treat for all of you beginner 3D users ;) In this video I'll be covering the principle of creating a nice eye rig for your cartoon character. I will also be explaining how sliders can be used to manipulate transformations and such. A topic on using layers for convenience will also be taken into consideration. If you have any questions on this rig or something, I'd be happy to answer and help you with any problems that may occur. I hope you'll enjoy this tutorial and that it will be of some help to you ;) If you'd like to say "thanks" and support me for my effort, please subscribe, leave a comment below or rate the video (like). Thank you ;) CHEERS!
The first movie I made using: - Autocad 2008 - 3d studio max - Vray 1.5 - Sketchup Pro - Vray for sketchup - Adobe Photoshop CS2 - Adobe Premium CS3 I made this for school (I'm student architecture at Sint Lucas in Gent, Belgium). The assignment was to design a simple pavillion using advanced modelling techniques (cad, 3dmax, skup, Make 3 presentation renders, and make a 15s animation of it using 3dmax. I got quotated on the animation, the modelling process, and the presentation renders. Not on the design. Modelling took me a day, Rendering took 96 hours, post processing half a day. Please note: this the first time I used 3dmax, vrayformax, and adobe premium. I'm quite satisfied of the result, altough there are still some mistakes in it. enjoy! Steyaert aka Rupzzz UPDATE! apparently the audio seems to be gone when uploaded to youtube, anyone have any idea how to fix this? I used the xvid codec for compression.
